Description: This pendant has a faux dichroic glass cabochon as a base topped with a delicate looking sculpted rose. <p></p> I started with making the highly domed cabochon base from polymer clay shaped over a piece of decorator glass. I textured textured surface and coated it with Dazzling Dichros mica powder. <p></p> The color actually shifts from teal toward purple as it curves away from you and highlights the texture. The surface is sealed under multiple layers of glassy clear polymer clay that both fill in the texture and protect the coating on the surface of the cabochon. The contrast of the glossy cabochon and the matte sculptural elements highlights the rose embellishment beautifully. <p></p> The petals of the rose shade from yellow at the center out through pinkish orange to a purple edge creating a feel of fantasy and a touch of whimsy. <p></p> I strung it on a sterling silver chain accented with swarovski crystals to highlight the (apparent)delicacy of the piece. Because it is made from Kato clay it is actually very tough.
